FIRST DAY IN THE STUDIO...
INTERACTION DESIGN WITHIN ROCK CLIMBING AND THE VETERINARY WORLD
Over the summer period I had a large involvement with running rock climbing walls and I would like to bring this back with me into my honours project and explore the possibility to create an application or wearable product that could benefit rock climbers and enhance their skills and experience. I will start by approaching the rock climbing community at the 'Avertical World' climbing centre in Dundee to conduct group and individual interviews with climbers to hear what they may like to add to their experience. I hope to also watch some climbers to see if i can pick up on any areas that could feature interaction design. I will look into individual climbers, the centre and sport as a whole.
For my honours project I would also like to look into areas that I haven't explored before that may have some areas which could feature small elements of interaction design. I would like to explore the area of veterinary practice as I have personal link into this area and I would also have easy access into a Veterinary clinic where I could conduct interviews and also record personal findings that I see for myself. I want to look into the ideas of a small piece of tech that could be used to bridge the gap between owners knowledge of their animals condition and the vets knowledge. A piece of wearable tech for an animal with a certain condition could also be an area that I can look into.
